Touch-Typing Tutor Collection
These touch-typing programs are designed to teach the layout of the keyboard then improve your typing skills and build words touch typing. The “Collection” is a single activation code for both beginner and advanced products. The two activations are completely independent and can be done on different days or different computers.
The tutor is self-voiced and does not require a screen reader of speech engine. The lessons are followed by exercises to reinforce the layout and gradually build the complexity of words to be typed.
Beginner:
Designed for people starting from scratch, with little or no experience of using a keyboard. It consists of 8 lessons (letter drills) and 8 exercises (word drills), starting with the letters A,S,D and F and building up to using all the letter and number keys. Each lesson has a corresponding exercise in which you practice by typing words based on the letters you have learned so far.
Advanced:
Designed for people with some typing experience and covers a lot more ground, with a selection of lessons to improve typing speed and accuracy. There are 5 sections to this programme. Section 1 covers the letter keys, section 2 covers capitals and punctuation, section 3 covers shortcuts and navigation keys, section 4 is an introduction to typing in Braille (grade 1) and section 5 has a collection of spelling tests.
